Type of Work: Watershed Restoration

  • Natural Stream Channel Construction
  • Stream Bank Stabilization
  • Dam Removal
  • Wetland & Pond Construction
  • Fish Enhancement & Habitat Improvement

Stream Restoration:

After years of research and hands-on experience, hydrologist and engineers have gained a better understanding of how streams present and maintain their natural beauty and stability. These principles are now being applied to stream restoration projects with exciting conclusions. These advances are the result of applying principles obtained from extensive fluvial geomorphologic (FGM) principles.

Gleim Environmental Group presents a positive and experienced approach to stream restoration. Using accepted and time-proven natural channel design techniques, coupled with the latest equipment and special attachments, GEG has the resources to provide outstanding results.

Wetlands:

The wetlands and their impact on the environment determine water quality in streams, rivers, and lakes. Stormwater runoff is slowed down by the wetlands’ natural characteristics. Poorly managed land use continues to destroy wetlands, thus changing the hydrology of waterways.

Therefore, Gleim Environmental Group is dedicated to protecting and enhancing these natural locations.

Dam Removals:

Although dams served an important purpose in their day, today many of them have outlived that purpose.

In many cases a dam’s negative impact on a river and riverside community outweigh the dams benefit. Dam removal can be a reasonable approach to restore rivers and riverside communities.

Gleim Environmental Group has extensive experience with dams and their removal process.
